He lived a long and healthy life. I never heard her complain about pains and pains. She was a very strong woman. When I was sick as a child, my mother didn't take me to the doctor. Instead he took me to grandma's house to take care of me. My grandmother would diagnose me and heal me with natural remedies (remedies). These are my grandmother's home remedies, I would love to hear your own home remedies in the comments below. Vicks VapoRubIf I had a cold or a fever, she would stain me Vicks VapoRub in my chest. It also extended and made me wear socks to bed. homemade frost alcohol If I had a fever, a towel would be soaked with a homemade green rubbing alcohol and put it on my forehead. Home alcohol had floating herbs inside the bottle including rosemary (rose) and marijuana (interest, right?!). Heat Herbal TeasIf I had stomach pain, she could make some ditch (chamomile) or herbal (mint) tea. The herbs he used were fresh in his garden — he never used tea bags. Chamomile Tea (Chamomile Tea) There is something relaxing on the chamomile, and it is not just a tale of old wives. it brings many warm memories. My grandmother grew the chamomile in her backyard and always made me a hot cup of chamomile if my stomach hurt me or before bed. I keep drinking chamomile at night to finish, and when my kids have a stomachache, I make this chamomile tea for them. Even when they were babies, I'd make them some sweetened apple tea with honey and give it to them in their baby bottle. A hot cup can only be the ticket to calm your child. This is a great tea to drink after dinner, before bed. The chamomile tea has relaxing, calming and relaxing properties. You can use dried chamomile flowers or chamomile tea bags. The chamomile is best served hot and is delicious with a little honey. Herbabuena (Mint Tea)Hierbabuena (Mint Tea)The stain relieves digestive symptoms, such as gas, swelling and indigestion (). Oregano tea (Oregano Tea) If I had cough or sore throat, she would make me do dry oregano and make me grip with salt water, and for dinner I knew that delicious would be on the menu. Cinnamon Tea (Cinnamon Tea) Both my grandmothers drank, as well as use aromatic spice in flavor and sweet dishes. After researching, I realized that there are surprising benefits to unique health and healing skills associated with this beloved spice. Evil Eye Sometimes, if she was sick for no apparent reason, she would say, "He gave you the evil eye" (Someone gave you the evil eye). She would sweep an egg over my body and start praying, then she would break the egg in a glass of water and put the glass on the floor under my bed, and in the morning she would say that the bad eye had gone, and magically felt better. Empacho There were other times that blamed diseases on empathy, which literally meant an affected stomach. It cracks a fresh egg (high quality style) in my stomach and rolls the round and round yolk until it broke. Then she put Vaseline in her hands and massaged my legs to fix any knots. It was a deep tissue soap (massage) that was quite uncomfortable as a child. She especially did this if I accidentally swallowed my chewing gum because she would say the gum would come down to my legs and needed to be solved before it caused other stomach problems. More Home remedies Then there were the common cuts and scratches that were treated with aloe vera fresh squeezed from its aloe plant accompanied by "sana, sana, frog colita..." Of course, if I was very sick as when I had chickenpox in the second grade, then they took me to the doctor. I remember the doctor recommending a pink calamine lotion for my spicy body. My grandmother ended up making her own concoction that relieved the itching much more than the pink thing. I'm not sure how he did it, but it worked. No matter what the remedy Grandma tried, I knew she would always make me feel better. As a mother I make herbal teas for my children and rub your breasts with Vicks, and make them homemade chicken soup if they are sick. I even bought my children a bunch of evil eye bracelets to keep the evil eye away. I'm about to try the tested and true first before running to the doctor. My children love extra attention and I prefer to try out simple outdated remedies first. I've always thought I could write an entire book about the home remedies that Grandma had for any illness. She was a wonderful curator in more ways than she knows. See more home remedies If you have natural home remedies that work for you, please let me know in the comments below. I love listening to you! Home Remedy Magical for Colds, Tos and Screws I really think this homemade medicine made with two simple and natural ingredients is a magical homemade remedy for colds, coughing and sore throat that works wonders in our children and in us every time. Home Remedy for colds, coughs and sore throats Two years ago, when I was still a working girl, my daughter started going to a new nanny. She received great care from her nanny and we all loved her absolutely. However, my daughter began to get sick much more often than she had with her previous nanny because she was around many more children. As a primary teacher I know one thing that comes with being around many children, germs. You constantly have to remind children to wash their hands, cover their mouths when coughing or sneezing, not to put things in their mouths, and so on. Even now that my child is 4 years old, I have to be with her about these things constantly. So it wasn't a surprise to me that being around a couple of school-aged kids during her babysitter days led her to more illnesses. From October to April of that year my daughter was sick every month. From ear infections, colds, the terrible coughs my baby couldn't take a break. They prescribed a couple of rounds of antibiotics for some of their ear infections. As new parents, we just wanted our girl to feel relief and if the doctor said it was antibiotics then so be it. However, we soon begin to question the use of too many medications. It was then that we started looking for more natural alternatives. The search for a natural melody I did what I always do when I have a question about a natural remedy, I turned to my parents. I'm so happy to have done it because they introduced me to this amazing and magical home remedy for colds, cough and sore throat. Coming from Mexico my parents acquired many homeopathic remedies, remedies that have been passed for generations and have proven to be very effective. This magical home remedy for colds, cough and sore throat has relieved not only the diseases of my children, but also mys and my husband (. Be aware, it is always better to consult with your doctor before trying anything, especially with young children.) What is this magical remedy for colds, coughs and sore throat? This cold and homemade cough syrup uses only two ingredients that you probably already have in your home, red onion and honey. Onions are great when they make this syrup because they are a natural and antiviral antibiotic. Red onions have a high amount of antioxidants, with more nutrients than yellow or white onions. Many doctors, including my children's pediatrician, recommend using a spoonful of honey instead of cough syrup. Honey works better than cough syrup in soothing cough and sore throat. It also has great taste, there is no risk of overdose, and it is a natural antibacterial. Note that honey should never be given to children under one because it could contain spores botulism. How do you make this natural home remedy? This is so simple to do that you will want to do it at the first sight of a spongy nose, slag throat, congestion or an annoying cough. To start, cut all a red onion into thin layers. Then place the onion in a deep and wide bowl. You want to have most of the onion exposed so that you can cover as much of it with honey as possible. Then pour a cup of honey on the red onion. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or aluminum. Let it sit for about 2 hours. After about two hours, you will notice an aqueous syrup at the bottom of the bowl. This is the magic thing. Give your children a teaspoon of the syrup every 2-4 hours, as if you were a cold syrup and cough. For adults, take a spoonful every 2-4 hours. But honestly, you could use this every hour, especially if necessary to calm down a cough. Continue to use this magical home remedy for colds, cough and sore throat until symptoms dissolve. You can also transfer all the mixture, onions and everything to a glass jar or another container with a tight lid so you can keep more time. They're at first sight of the dive. The cut onion will continue to create more syrup while sitting. This should last the duration of your child's or child's disease. If you get away, it's so easy to get back to that it won't be a problem. Don't worry about taste, the syrup has a very soft and sweet taste. You'll barely notice an onion taste. My children don't care a little (I think they really like it). Try it! I hope you try and make it as magical for you as it is for us. Unfortunately, we've been using this a lot lately as it's that sick time of the year. Thank God it's also cheap to do! Do you have any remedies for colds and coughs that you like to use? Share them with me in the following comments. Related posts 29 Comments to the "Remedy Home Magical for Colds, Tos and Soras Gorges" I've done this for years and I love it. I was gently chopped garlic and also infused in the syrup. It has powerful antibacterial effects and opens blood vessels. It doesn't change taste much either. My grandkids take it without problems. Hi, Tina. I haven't tasted it with garlic. I'm gonna have to do that, anything that can help speed up the recovery process. Thanks! Can I use yellow onions? Yes you can, the onions in general are a natural and antiviral antibiotic. However, red onions have a high amount of antioxidants, with more nutrients than yellow or white onions. My cold just started acting today and I've always been dead not to take medication unless it's really serious. The same goes for going to the doctor. I only see myself go once a year. I'm looking to use only home remedies, natural and what I remember growing up that my mother did when I got sick as a child. I'll try it since I haven't heard of this before and I just bought a honey tub so it should be good. Thanks for sharing! I hope it works for you. It works wonders for my whole family and it's so easy to do. Pingback: Wow I've never heard of this but it's definitely worth trying! You'll have to do it the next time one of us is sick. It's a great remedy and so easy to do. I hope it works for you! And much better than all chemicals than the other remedies against it. Yes much better to try a natural remedy and avoid all those chemicals safely. This is so useful! My daughter has had a cough for the last few weeks. I hate onions, but I definitely want to try this! I know I can't really stand raw onions, but the taste really combines in the syrup and just tasted sweet. I found this post just in time. We all go down with a cold and I always like natural remedies about any counterfeit medicine. And these are ingredients that I already have in the house, which is a bonus! Thanks for sharing. The cold and flu season is the worst! It's great to have some home remedies to go to instead of about birth control. I hope this works for you! My kids go to a new school this year and it's a set of new germs. My youngest is a little sicker than usual. Oh no, I hope your little one gets better soon. This is a great and easy remedy to resort. I love finding natural solutions to problems, so I am very excited about this option. I have onion and honey in the house at all times, so knowing that I have the ingredients for this syrup on the list is a great relief. Thank you for sharing! I always have honey and onions too, that's one of the reasons I love this remedy so much. I hope it works for you! I do a lot of home medications for me and my kids. I haven't heard of doing this and I'm really interested in checking it out. I put it on for later too! Oh, well, it's so big and so simple. I hope you like it. Gemma, I couldn't have found this at a better time. My husband is so sick right now, and I know I'm going down with him at any time. I can't take most of the medicine since I've been a nurse. I'm gonna try this if I get your illness. You'll be my HERO if it works! I'm glad you saw this and I hope it works for you. He's a lifeguard for us when we get sick. I hope you don't get too sick, my husband is the one who brought him home this time too. I've never heard of this remedy, but I'll definitely try it the next time our family gets sick! We started taking gommies of the aderberry this year, and they have seemed to help prevent the really bad colds so far. I'm glad I can offer a new remedy for you and your family. I'll have to take a look at the old man's goats. So excited to try this tonight! My little Stella has been sick the last week thanks to her wonderful cousin Ryne LOL!!! Thank you! Let me know what you think. I'm not saying it's magical at all, it really does wonders! Just make sure you give it to him often to be effective. Poor Stella, I hope you feel better soon. Thank you so much for publishing this. My daughter has been sick of Oct-Jan and it's also her first time in school. I've never been to preschool, etc. So it's been tough and she's been going through her to her little sister course thanks for expressing how her daughter got sick too often and helped me understand that it's doing the grade school kids that she made I feel good, this is what happens. Hello Farrah, oh no! I know exactly what that is, it's finally gotten better for my daughter this year that she's in the nursery. However, now bring the germs home and my son gets sick, but this always ends up being my first line of defense. I hope this remedy will help and I hope your daughter improves.
